In a well-organized 3-5 page paper, discuss the career for which you are going to school. The three key points which you’ll need to cover are:
-What are the educational requirements for this career? (i.e. what degree/certificate is required to enter this field? How many years of school will it take to achieve? What will the courses teach you/prepare you for that you will need in the field?)
-What are the job requirements for this career? (i.e. what is expected of someone in this position? What special requirements/caveats are there for someone in this position? What are the general expectations of someone in this position?)
-What was it that caused you to choose this profession? Was it a particular experience or person? A mentor? Explain what led you to choose this career for yourself.
You will need to make use of no less than two (2) sources for this essay. Because this is our first paper, these sources do not need to be scholarly (academic) journals; websites will work just fine. I recommend using the school website (or the website of a university to which you plan to transfer) to fulfill at least one of these requirements (perhaps the educational requirements?). Other strong sources include websites for professional organizations pertaining to your profession, publications from within that field, or personal interviews with someone who works in that field.
You will need to cite these sources on a properly formatted (MLA format) Works Cited page. We will discuss this in class, and this information can also be found on the Purdue OWL website. In addition, you’ll need to include in-text citations to refer your reader to the proper Works Cited entry. Again, this will be discussed in class.

Rather, it is a detailed, careful analysis of what you will have to do to achieve your goals and what you will have to look forward to once you have achieved them.
