At Tech Health Solutions, the senior managers decided to boost motivation and performance by relying more on teamwork. Inspired by the concept of piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, they initially believed that assembling the best employees who perform their own jobs well would automatically result in the most successful teams. However, they soon realized that the key to a team's success lies not in who is on the team but in members who were motivated and who perceived their individual contributions as important to engaging in teamwork. 

In organizational behavior, teams have become a powerful force. Understanding why teams are more effective than individuals working alone is the first step to becoming a team player. Go to Connect and take the assessment to evaluate whether you are a team player.
