Competency Objectives

CLO 1: Demonstrate understanding of social science theory relevant to civic knowledge by describing ways to participate in the political process.

CLO 2: Demonstrate acquisition of civic knowledge by describing political theories, institutions, and mechanisms as contexts for engagement in civic life.

CLO 3: Demonstrate preparedness to engage in civic life at local, regional, national, or international level by describing political actions connected to specific issues.

Purpose of this Assessment
Throughout this competency, you have learned about the origins and workings of American Government, and ways in which you can participate in the political process. The purpose of this summative assessment is for you to demonstrate your ability to apply this knowledge by engaging in civic life concerning two political issues of significance or interest to you. The project will have three components that will be combined together to create one project. These include: (1) a summary of the issues, (2) a consideration and analysis of possible civic actions in which you might engage, and (3) a selection of civic actions in which you would engage, along with rationales for your selection.

· A consideration and analysis of possible civic actions in which you might engage

· A selection of civic actions in which you would engage, along with rationales for your selection
