Starting from that point, I think for interpreting any sacred scripture it’s important to know when is symbolic and when is more literally. People debate many passages because some take it too literal and others take it symbolically and that’s how controversies unleash. Actually, interpreting anything (not only religiously) it’s so difficult because a person can say a phrase and the listeners might analyze the context, the background, the intention, the meaning behind, etc. so at the end the outcome is going to be different because each person processes information differently. So for me that’s why the Bible and other scriptures are controversial because each person gives its own interpretation reason why there’re so many religions and denomination within each religion
