Project Assignment 4: SWOT Analysis

You will submit one Word file

Assignments 3 and 4 are worth a substantial portion of the Group Project grade. Make sure to give these assignments your utmost attention. Ask questions if you are confused or need more help. Work as a team and make sure not to wait until the last minute. It is obvious when an assignment is rushed and it can greatly affect your grade. Project Managers should help coordinate in getting assignments started.

Cover Page
Include the names of students who participated in the completion of the assignment; do not include names of students who did not participate.

SWOT Analysis
SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats.

Here are some factors to consider in your research for preparing SWOT analysis for your company:

the ratios from Assignment 3 provide a wealth of information; use these to help you support your analysis
general product information including its reputation as a company and/or industry
success within their industry
any current news that would be relevant to your decision
the company’s “green” initiatives
a new product or service
any recent cost cutting moves
consolidation or merger with another company

Here are the general MLA guidelines for SWOT analysis:

Double-space the text of your paper, and use a legible font (e.g. Times New Roman). Whatever font you choose, MLA recommends that the regular and italics type styles contrast enough that they are recognizable one from another. The font size should be 12 pt.
Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks.
Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides.
Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left margin. MLA recommends that you use the Tab key as opposed to pushing the Space Bar five times.
Use italics throughout your essay for the titles of longer works and, only when absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.
If you have any endnotes, include them on a separate page before your Works Cited page. Entitle the section Notes (centered, unformatted).

Contribution Statement
List each student name and what he/she contributed.

Requirements:

Cover page: include the names of students who participated in the completion of the assignment; do not include names of students who did not participate.
Regardless of the division of work in this assignment, at least two students should complete each section, then compare for possible errors or omissions, and finally make any necessary adjustments, additions, and/or corrections.
Follow MLA guidelines and organize your assignment according to SWOT. Provide headings to keep your work well organized and easy to read.

Your written analysis for SWOT should be at least three pages, no more than six pages. The cover sheet, company’s financial statements, and works cited page do not count toward this page requirement.
Include the company’s most recent financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows) at the end of your document. Copy/paste the statements; do not use hyperlinks. Third-party-provided financial statements are not acceptable.
If the financials will not format into the document correctly, submit them as a separate PDF file with the assignment.

Use a plagiarism checker (find a free one using Google) before submitting your assignment, as plagiarism will result in zero points for all teammates in the group. This is an individual AND a team responsibility.
Once you have determined your assignment to be plagiarism-free, be sure all teammates read the documents (preferably out-loud to discover awkward writing or errors), correct any grammar/spelling or factual errors, and ensure that all components are included.
All team members are responsible for editing; review and correct each other’s contributions and the final product before submitting.

Using Word, include a listing of each student’s name with his/her contribution made to this assignment.
Note: Late assignments are accepted no later than the day following the deadline and carry an automatic 20% penalty.
