Students will be given a choice of topics on which to write their term paper. Topics will be based on the films and texts listed in the syllabus. Papers must be 5 to 7 pages in length, double-spaced using 12- point font. Students must cite at least 8 academic sources in addition to the assigned texts/films being discussed. Students must use Chicago citation style and include a bibliography.
The term paper is due on the last day of class. For every day late, 5 points will be deducted from the grade. Each student will hand in an electronic copy of his or her paper using the online plagiarism- detection resource on Blackboard. All research papers are to follow the Chicago style guide (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/717/02/).
At least 4 of the paper’s sources must be academic journals and scholarly publications. Following are the presentation topics to be assigned by the instructor:
