Post your response in a Word document to this assignment link, and once it has been graded, you can make any necessary changes and upload it to your ePortfolio. Step 3-Brainstorm a List of Job-Specific Tasks 1. Brainstorm a list of job-specific tasks you participate in or have participated in. 2. Optional (no grades attached): You can brainstorm with other students on the discussion forum. They may help you to pinpoint what is most interesting and relevant about the task in relation to the career you are pursuing. 3. Narrow the list of job-specific tasks down to the most important 3 tasks or interests Match Job Skills to Professional skills 4. Identify activities from the job-specific task list that cross over with professional skills. a. For example, if’s student is a rock climber, they may use the following professional skills: initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making, and they take calculated risks to reach their goals. b. If you get stuck, pair up on the discussion board with students with similar interests and share ideas. c. Use the Tables of Professional Skills and Behaviours.pdf (enclosed) to help you articulate the professional skills you used to accomplish a job-specific task. d. Proceed to write your reflection. Step 4-Reflection 1. Write a 150-word reflection on the professional skills that make you capable or talented at one of the 3 tasks or interests you chose in Step 3. 2. Write your reflection using the STAR (Situation or Task, Actions, Results) format (See video above), which mimics the answer employers expect to job interview questions that begin: "Tell me about a time in which you…". 3.
