Throughout this course, you have explored various psychological theories of leadership and approaches to the psychology of leadership. This assignment requires you to explore and integrate the concepts learned throughout this course.

 

You will be submitting a paper in which you select three distinct psychological theories of leadership.

 

In your paper,

 

·         Present a clear overview of the three specific leadership theories or approaches.

 

·         Explain the foundational philosophical assumptions and principles of the selected leadership paradigms.

 

·         Discuss briefly the limitations and strengths of each leadership theory or approach selected.

 

·         Examine thoroughly the rationale for why each leadership theory or approach is important to the study of leadership psychology and/or the field of organizational psychology.

 

·         Discuss the relevance of one particular leadership theory or approach to you and your career path.

 

·         Discuss the relevance of issues of diversity as they are related to the history of psychology of leadership.

 

The Leadership Theory Paper, 

 

·         Must be 10 to 12 double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA Style (Links to an external site.) as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Formatting for Microsoft Word (Links to an external site.) resource.

 

·         Must include a separate title page with the following:

 

o    Title of paper

 

o    Student’s name

 

o    Ashford University

 

o    Course name and number

 

o    Instructor’s name

 

o    Date submitted

 

·         Must utilize academic voice. See the Academic Voice (Links to an external site.) resource for additional guidance.

 

·         Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper.

·         Must use at least eight scholarly and peer reviewed sources. Five of which should be recent (within the last 5 to 10 years) scholarly, peer-reviewed research articles, and cited accordingly. The other three references may be from the course-assigned texts or other relevant sources.
