The final work consists of designing 2 flyers (1 page each of them) and 1 power point ( approximately 7 slides excluding cover and reference page)

Part 1 (The Flyers)

I had to choose a non profit to help and inform people of the issue. I chose Hushabye Nursery, and have been working on information sheets and presentations for the parents of drug exposed infants and follow up and how we can get further compliance, but I need help with informing the public. I need 2 flyers.

One would need to have information to destigmatize addictions and mental health and how the community can help. Majority of the time these go together.

The second flyer would mention coping skills and resources where people can reach out for help.

Part 2 (The Powerpoint)

Then I also need a simple power point for the public to inform on addiction mental health. Again to destigmatize to get more people to help the nonprofits that are doing all the work to help people with drug addiction and mental health. My community it Gilbert AZ in Maricopa County AZ.

Additional Helpful Information (READ THIS TO ENSURE A QUALITY WORK)

Ive been really focused on the parents that are drug addicted, and their babies but I feel if we can get more of the community involved that would be great. I want people to understand that addiction is sometimes genetic a a good amount of time they have been exposed to some form of trauma, abuse, family in current drug addiction you name it and have mental illnesses and the inability to cope and were never shown there is other ways to cope. Also, addiction changes the frontal lobe and it becomes even more difficult for them to make the right decisions. I want them to feel more supported and for that I need the community to have a better understanding of this subject. I think of the next generation.

. Make a good impact with just one page flyers. I want people to know where they can reach out for help, but also not be ashamed to ask for help while letting others know about Husabye. Their website has good information.

For the presentation, I’m wondering if we should focus on Maricopa County. I want to be able to share this with people outside of Hushabye, Explaining addiction, correlation with mental health, changes in the brain, statistics, anyway to inform others and have an understanding of this issue and how they as a community can help, and how they can make a difference again trying to destigmatize.

I’ve been working a lot with addiction and mental health and parents with addiction and people don’t want to help, because they feel a certain way about this issue. It would be nice to try and change this. I’ve presented and been teaching them coping skills and much more, but in doing this I realized they need more help from the public, mainly buisnesses. Luckily, Hushabye has some donors, but there is so much more that can be done. We have so much money coming into Maricopa County, especially Gilbert and Tempe AZ from all the tech companies and manufacturing companies arriving.
