Your amendments should not be like laws – they shouldn’t propose specific programs or regulations or criminal statutes or anything like that. They should be corrective of processes of governance, the distribution of power, issues involving people’s rights, issues involving the fairness of the political system, and things such as that. (Or perhaps, the amendment could clarify an aspect of the process of governance that is unclear in the Constitution.)
For each amendment:
-describe (or quote) the part of the Constitution, SPECIFICALLY CITING THE ARTICLE AND SECTION you seek to change, clarify, or add to and explain why you think it needs to be changed;
-provide the rough wording of your amendment (you can model the style on the actual existing amendments, which are in the appendix of your textbook);
-explain your rationale: how would your amendment improve our political system?;
-answer any objections you think might be raised to your proposed amendment.
