Community Support Project Guidelines
In the fields of child development and education, you will come across many families in need of a variety of resources. These resources are not just necessary for families with newborns. Parents may need support with children of all ages. This project will help you familiarize yourself with multiple resources that are available in your community.
Locate and research a minimum of 5 community resources (may be non-profit or for profit) available in your area to support family needs from conception all the way to teenagers. Make sure that you include resources for families at different stages (conception/pregnancy, infant, toddler, middle childhood, teenager, and possibly adult). You do not have to include all of those stages, but you do need to include at least three.
For each of the resources you select, research what needs are addressed by the organization, and how those resources are disseminated to the families in need. Make sure that you incorporate information from your readings about the research base behind this type of resource.
Create a visual presentation (PowerPoint, Slides, Prezi, etc.) highlighting your findings. Make sure you include contact information for each organization as it may come in handy for you or your classmates in the future.
