Each week, I will find one or two news clippings related to Health Economics. Most common type of clippings will be newspaper articles, and webpages, however, they may also include audio or video clips as well. I will post the news clippings both in Canvas and in Perusall.
First make sure that you read and annotate the assigned article or news clip in Persuall. This will be worth 15% of your final grade.
After the weekly read and the annotation assignment on Persuall is done you will have an additional week, to summarize what you have learned from reading the article and participating in the online discussion. This should include at least three main concepts and issues and give you an opportunity for reflections. The summary should be your intellectual interactions with the news and opinions they contain.
You are strongly encouraged to use comments made and information provided by other students and me in your summary as well.
In this summary you are also encouraged to integrate and connect the topic of the article to the material covered in other parts of the course (for example in the textbook or problem sets). The summary can express bewilderment, reinforcement, extensions, comparisons with other news items or with class or textbook interpretations, or may raise questions for further discussion.
The summary should be at least 1 page long and must be submitted here on Canvas.
