Write an analytical and interpretive paper focusing on the themes or characters of one of the first four films we have watched: The Bourne Identity, Cast Away, Get Out, or Us.  This is not a summary of the film or a retelling of what happened. The focus is on understanding the film by approaching it through specific themes and characters.  You should develop a clear topic that you can state in your introduction.  Develop some strong points that you would like to discuss as a way to analyze the film.  A good general rule is to have three clear points that are related to your main topic.

While characters and themes will extend all the way through the film, you should also focus on specific scenes or moments in the film as a way to bring details, concrete ideas, and specificity to your writing and analysis. You may use still images from the film. You must use examples of specific scenes or events in the film you choose to work on.
