Write an in-depth response to each of the questions numbered below. Number your response with the question. Each response needs to be at least four sentences in length. Refer to "Writing Rubric" (in the Getting Started Module and the syllabus) for content and grammar guidelines. Upload your file into the dropbox folder.

Read Chapter 11, "School Social Work", the NASW standards, the Web site "School Social Workers Association", the Web sites on the Resources page, and watch the videos provided. Respond to the following  questions with in-depth responses.  

1. Go to the Resource section and click on the link from the NASW entitled "School Social Work". Read the NASW information on specific guidelines for school social work. Highlight the key roles for social workers from that link.
2. List and describe the 5 primary skills NASW requires for school social workers. Give some examples of how these skills would be used with students/parents/teachers.
3. Go to the Readings section. Click on the link provided entitled "What does a School Social Worker do?" List and describe the responsibilities of a school social worker. Do you see yourself working in this setting? Why or why not?
4. From the textbook, outline the challenges facing school social workers with key facts noted for each. What  are some ways social workers can intervene?
5. Go to the Readings section and click on the link for School Social Workers Association. Click on both links including the evidenced based practice. Identify 2 specific things the school social work association gets involved in at the macro level. Share 1 evidenced based practice from the list provided and explain how social workers utilize this intervention with students.
6. Go to the Activities section and watch the videos entitled "School Social Worker" and "The Role of a School Social Worker". Highlight the key interventions that school social workers do in this setting.
7. Under "Readings" click on the link for "TN Law". Read the new law in place for hiring school social workers. Summarize the new requirements and how this will benefit the state, kids, teachers, and families.
