On Sunday, September 15, 1963, four members of the Ku Klux Klan planted 15 sticks of dynamite attached to a timing device beneath the steps on the east side of the 16th St. Baptist Church in Birmingham AL. These 4 girls were climbing the stairs in their choir robes when the explosion killed them instantly:
There were no prosecutions of their murderers until one of the 4 men was sentenced in 1977, and 2 of the other men were not imprisoned for life until 2001 and 2002. Clearly, this illustrates the racial injustice that African Americans have blatantly lived with, even though the turn of the century. How can those who long for justice respond?
