Is it possible that the violent members of the drug cartels can behave like Cartels in Legitimate markets? 

                 the definition of a Cartel from Merriam – Webster Dictionary is ” a combination of independent commercial or industrial enterprises designed to limit competition or fix prices ” from this definition we can figure that Illegal drug trade taking the word Cartel to qualify their “business” is acceptable. The thinking that they can behave like Cartels in Legitimate Markets is a too far stretched. 

                  The Drug Cartel, tend to imitate the simple definition of Cartels; indeed they are independent industrial and commercial enterprises, that does design prices on their product, control a production and also limit the competition. The flaw is not the execution of the definition, but the way of executing it. The accumulation of assets and setting prices from extortion, that are more than half the revenue of another enterprise or community, the shot down of creating agents for the production of the drug if they are not complying, wars between gang territories and scare tactic on a population is a complete different shift from what we know as Legal Cartels. the Biggest difference between the two is the easy form of violence that we find in the Drug Cartel. In this Form of Trade, violence is usually necessary as a form of protection against police and military, also as a scary tactic on the population. what makes the Drug Cartels different and impossible to behave like other legal Cartel is in the product itself: Drug. the product that they sell has incredible negative impact in people’s system, unfortunately they are addictive, thus the Market keep progressing. To keep feeding an already banned substance. The method will always be through violence.
