Research a selected local, national, or global nonprofit organization or government agency from the document provided. Determine how the organization or agency contributes to public health and safety improvements, promotes equal opportunity, and improves the quality of life within the community.

Selected organization : National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI): NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
