Visual Layout Tools

Designing a learning environment that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive of all learners is no easy task! It takes time, effort, and research to bring one to life. For part of your summative assignment in this course, you will be creating a visual representation of your learning environment and justifying your design. This week we want to get your wheels turning with various possibilities for tools you can use to create your visual representation. Therefore, in your journal this week you will explore various tools that can be used to design a classroom layout and reflect on your experiences.

To prepare for your journal,

• Explore Community Playthings’ Sample ClassroomsLinks to an external site., or pages 110–113 of your course textbook to see some examples of classroom layouts.
• Review at least three of the following tools that can be used for designing a classroom layout:

  In your journal,

• Describe the three tools you explored.
• Discuss the pros and cons of each tool.
• Explain whether each tool would allow you to design a classroom layout that supports a child’s growth and development.
• Determine whether you would use one of the tools you explored or something different.

Suggested Journal Length

• One to two double-spaced pages (not including reference page).

Writing and Formatting Expectations

• Syntax and Mechanics: Writing displays meticulous comprehension and organization of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Before you submit your written assignment, you are encouraged to review UAGC’s Grammarly GuideLinks to an external site.. Set up a Grammarly account (if you have not already done so) and use Grammarly to review a rough draft of your assignment. Then carefully review all issues identified by Grammarly and revise your work as needed.
