please prepare a paper of a page and a half on “Power, Authority and the Knowing Process” as they are explained in our reading “Dialectic of Authority.” The most common definition of authority is that it is “legitimate power.” That raises questions about what makes power legitimate or authentic and Lonergan tries to answer these questions by considering norms or standards that may be found in the knowing process. I would like you to explain how Lonergan conceives of power and authority and of their relationships to the knowing process. In particular, explain how power can become authority, according to Lonergan’s analysis. You may wish to refer to the transcendental precepts here.
