Research question: What are the most effective marketing strategies for sports
organizations to increase revenue and fan engagement?
1. Hypothesis: Sports organizations that use innovative marketing techniques,
including social media and targeted promotions, are more likely to increase
revenue and fan engagement than those that do not 

   The purpose of this assignment is to help you identify what you care enough about to study and how this might inform possible research topics for you to pursue in this course as well as for a final project in another course or even a thesis.  A useful way for you to begin is to by identifying your concerns or interests.  These can stem from your personal biography (a job, an illness, a living arrangement, a relationship, etc.) or remote biography and personal history (past identities or experiences, family customs, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, class background, religion, and so forth).  It's helpful if you start by "brainstorming" anything that comes to mind when you think about aspects of your biography that intrigue, trouble, or interest you, and writing these thoughts down without trying to organize or analyze them.   select one or two areas that feel the most compelling, and write about them in a 2-to-3-page paper.  Describe what your area of interest is, how it connects to your own biography, and what fascinates you most about it.  Include the number associated with the topic in the list. There are multiple ways to go with the topics. At the end of the paper, include several questions you have about your areas of interest and what direction your topic may take.  If you find you can't come up with any questions, write about why you think you can't.
