Reflection on the Advance Nursing Inquiry and Evidence Based Practice Course: Knowledge Gained

I have acquired a thorough and sophisticated comprehension of both the nursing

profession and its highest levels from the Advanced Nursing course. During the program, I have

gained irreplaceable knowledge and skills that surely will definitely better my capability to take

care of patients and as well as the position of being a nurse.

Among the most important aspects of the course was that it paid so much attention to

evidence-based practice (Hughes et al., 2022). We looked into the role of evidence-based

practice in order to base our nursing protocols and interventions in recent research and

guidelines. This approach matters for patients to have the most appropriate and advanced care

which is ultimately aimed at achieving better outcomes and quality care.

The course also covered a broad scope of advanced nursing concepts such as

pharmacology, pathophysiology, and advanced health assessment. These topics have built up my

knowledge base on elements like disease process, medication management and the skills needed

to do patient evaluations (Tracy, 2022). This knowledge will help me to plan my actions and to

predict complications accordingly, which will later enable me to customize the treatment plan for

every patient.

The leadership and management skills were other priceless parts of the course. As

ARNPs, we are frequently involved in leading both within healthcare teams as well as within

healthcare organizations. The course offered valuable lessons regarding effective

communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and strategic thinking (Tracy, 2022). It will not

only help me in the leadership and multidisciplinary team aspects but also in the improvement of

the healthcare delivery system.

Moreover, the course not only included the theoretical aspects of it but also had many

clinical practicum experiences (Hughes et al., 2022). Being able to take part in such practical

classes allowed me to put into practice the knowledge and skills that I acquired in the class in the

real situations. By working in collaboration with experienced preceptors or mentors, I acquired

huge practical experience in taking up of advanced nursing roles like nursing practitioner, nurse

educator, or nurse administrator. This has been my most priceless times and boosted my

confidence and competence of advanced practice nurse.

Overall, the Advanced Nursing course has equipped me with a comprehensive set of

knowledge, skills, and competencies that will enable me to excel in my profession. I feel better

prepared to navigate complex healthcare situations, provide high-quality patient care, and

contribute to the advancement of the nursing field. The knowledge gained from this course has

empowered me to be a more effective, compassionate, and influential healthcare professional,

dedicated to improving the lives of patients and shaping the future of healthcare delivery.

Furthermore, the course has fostered a deeper appreciation for the dynamic interplay between research, theory, and practice in nursing. By exploring the theoretical underpinnings of nursing research and understanding how research informs theoretical frameworks and vice versa, I've gained insights into the holistic nature of nursing knowledge development.
