He was brought to the emergency department by EMS after being found at home by his nurse. There were no other passengers in his car. He was disoriented at the time and experiencing a great deal of pain especially in his right wrist. After the tests were completed, Mr. Bennet was diagnosed with multiple contusions and a sprained right arm. His arm was splinted in the ED with a referral to orthopedics for follow-up. His vitals are stabilized, and his pain is treated with hydrocodone- acetaminophen. He admits to a recent weight loss due to poor appetite, unsure how much. Mr. Bennet was admitted to the hospital from the ED for observation. When asked, Mr. Bennet expressed that he wants to go home. He is very worried about who will be looking after his dog, Mickey. VS on arrival: BP 165/90, HR 89, RR 18, Spo2 97% on Room air, wt 143, Ht 5’10", BMI 20.5 kg/m Allergies: Penicillin PMH: Type II Diabetes treated with empagliflozin; Hypertension controlled by lisinopril and metoprolol XL; . Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy treated with tamsulosin; MI for which he takes aspirin and atorvastatin; Osteoarthritis He takes Benadryl to "calm his nerves" and help him sleep Medication list: In-home assessors should check list against pill bottles Diphenhydramine 25mg qhs as needed Acetaminophen 650mg every 6 hours as needed Naproxen 500mg twice daily as needed Aspirin 81 mg daily Tums as needed Lisinopril 20 mg daily Metoprolol XL 50 mg daily Empagliflozin 10 mg daily Tamsulosin 0.4mg daily Atorvastatin 40 mg daily Questions to think about: 1.
