This discussion provides us with the importance of understanding multi-cultural influences on funeral practices and beliefs on death and dying. Cultural beliefs and religion both provide us with a basic view of dying and guide us throughout our lives.

How religion impacts our beliefs about death and funeral practices.

How near-death or afterlife experiences are influenced by an individual’s religious background, cultural beliefs and family traditions.

Please support your discussion with scholarly references (Links to an external site.) and respond to a minimum of two of your classmates, addressing their post in a substantive manner.

Guided Response: Respond to at least two of your peers.  Use a minimum of one scholarly source found at the University of Arizona Global Campus Library or Google Scholar, to critically examine the procedure that you have selected and its results.  Offer a substantial response to at least two other posts written by members of the class.  Be sure that you cite scientific evidence to support your views. A minimum of 250 -300 words should be used for each response to other posts.  Your response must be formatted according to APA style as outlined by the Writing Center.  Be certain to continue monitoring the discussion board until 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Day 7 of the week.

Discuss your understanding of how religion can impact ones belief of death and funeral practices. Conclude how their early experiences shaped religious backgrounds and family traditions as provided in your classmates’ initial posts. For each response, provide an example from your classmate post, and how it shaped their view of death later in life.  Support your response with at least one reference from the text or this week’s required articles. You must also comment specifically on one aspect of your classmate’s post with which you can relate or understand their summary of this week’s question. Provide a brief explanation as to why you agree and support your review with research drawn from the required readings this week. What personal and/or professional insights might you gain from your classmates’ posts that could alter your views? In addition to responding to at least two other students’ posts, it is recommended that you reply to at least one classmate who responded to your original post by either respectfully support your conclusions or listing how you might implement the alternatives your classmate suggested.
