Case Study #1
In the case of Angelica, as I observe her action and response, she appears to thrive and successfully meet all her development milestones. When connecting with others or investigating play materials, she advances her ability to pay attention to people, objects, and the environment. The interaction between Angelica and her teacher during story time is an essential developmental factor. Angelica participates well with adult guidance throughout activities that endure for extended periods; she demonstrates excellent attention span. Angelica, for instance, listened to a book from beginning to end, attempted to turn the pages, and continued playing after the story concluded.
Moreover, Angelica establishes a growing sense of self-awareness and connection to others. She recognizes herself and familiar people. For example, Angelica responds positively to the presence of a known adult (her teacher), turns when she hears her name called and points to herself in the mirror. Likewise, she develops a complex capacity to observe, examine, and analyze objects of items and events in the environment and learn more about them. Overall, Angelica engages in simple, purposeful explorations of familiar things in the environment.
Notably, Angelica attempted to flip the pages and pull books from the shelves. This demonstrates her mastery of gross motor abilities by utilizing her arms, legs, and body in various ways to handle items in a wide range of situations, including sitting, moving, standing, and using support. For example, she had one arm on the wall while clutching the book from her teacher, the book was being read to her, and she used her body to maneuver around to strive to take the book from her teacher’s hand.
The observation tools I use during the observation are anecdotal notes and running records. An excellent gear to the custom during observation is taking anecdotal notes. An anecdotal note is a written record of a child. It includes who, what, how and sometimes where and when. It is written so the reader can picture exactly what happened without interpretation. (cite) The notes include a broad range of activities in child development domains, from social, emotional growth, and physical development. Likewise, running notes are essential in this segment because when anything significant happens, it’s best to keep a running record, which is a detailed, objective, chronological recording of the time.
In my experiences as a preschool teacher of six years, I have found that children in the toddler years go through a period of rapid development and growth. Toddlers will acquire new skills and discover novel ways to engage with the world. During their development, they will conquer several domains, such as intellectual growth, physical maturation, linguistic proficiency, and emotional maturity. It is crucial for caregivers to have positive interactions with toddlers and opportunities for exploration, creation, and play. They are vital for young children’s growth and expansion. A caregiver should ensure that a child has access to materials for imaginative play, such as toys, books, and art equipment.

Case Study 2
Nathan is very creative in his drawing. The information I’ve gathered from his picture define strong fine motor skills and imagination resilient. Nathan’s picture showed signs of patterning and articulation. Also, the shapes he include are meeting development milestone such as circles and stars and attempts to create triangles, although he may not be able to form them yet. And Nathan strong awareness of his literacy knowledge writing his name on the right side corner. The drawings of him and his mother appears to moves from head to toe. For instance, he added hair, eyebrows, and facial features to the upper portion of the figure he drew, demonstrating his attention to detail. In Nathan’s picture he put thought and intent of taking in new dimensions. And strategizes the subject matter, of the picture showing a story that looks like the things he spoke about.
The insight relation of Nathan’s drawing is a sample of his growth in intelligence and creativity. His drawing allows a teacher to expand the understanding of his developing skills and passions. Furthermore, Nathan’s physical development in his picture provides a significant amount of fine motor skills. He demonstrates cumulative strength, precision, competence, and coordination when using his hand muscles to function his drawing. Additionally, his cognitive domains reflect his natural world awareness. Nathan explains that the fish can see him and his mother in the aquarium but cannot touch them. He demonstrates how natural elements will act or function. The drawing displays his socioemotional talents through his self-identity in connection to others. The images of Nathan convey straightforward concepts of identity and social connectedness. His pictures tell a story about an outing he and his mom at the aquarium.
Original samples of children’s work can be used to prove a child’s growing intelligence and creativity. One can see the growth of a child’s learning and development through time by looking at the child’s portfolio of completed projects. It gives the teacher a chance to expand their understanding of a child’s developing skills and ambitions. As a preschool teacher of 6 years, collecting child sample work and generating student profiles can help teachers connect with their students, provide a welcoming learning environment, and identify areas where they may need to adjust their teaching strategy. Overall, teachers can monitor student’s progress in learning and development with the use of work examples.
