Supply chain management is “an absorbing philosophy to handle the overall flow of a allocation channel from the supplier to the significant customer.” Operations/supply chain management keeps the organization properly together and everything will be planned and properly carried out. The wastage would be reduced and work will be completed on time as there will be coordination between the departments. This helps in having correct information on the inventory levels based on which material will be ordered and taking orders from customers only up-to the capacity of the plant so that they can be executed on time. Hence there will be proper link between suppliers and the company and customers and the company which would help in proper coordination and business. This results in reduction of prices, improved quality, efficient service, proper response, payments on time and quality products. Hence it benefits both the supplier and customer.

Operations management increases profit while lowering costs. Operations management focuses on productivity, quality, and efficiency to help the organization ultimately achieve there own unique goals.

Operations management is important from a customer stand point because operation management ensures the production and delivery of high-quality products. Operations management ensures customer satisfaction which leads to returning customers, and new customers through word of mouth.

I work at Amazon and the job of Operations at our warehouse is essential. Operations makes sure each machine is working up to par with company standards to maintain productivity and quality. Operations at our facility is always trying to find safer, faster, and more productive ways to work. New methods that continue to follow quality standards of course.
