25 Jul User Task Analysis Summary

Step 1. Enter your data into Excel, summarize data, and create graphs and tables.

This step should take you about 1 hr. to complete.

1. Enter all of the data you collected into an Excel file.
   1. You may structure your Excel file in any manner you wish. The most common organization is to have one row per participant and one column per question or data point. For example, the number of columns you would have for each of these parts of the study are as follow:
      1. Entrance Questionnaire – 9 columns (Q1- Q9; no need for Q 10)
      2. Task/Goal completion – 10 columns (For each task, 1 indicating the level of difficulty experienced by the participant and 1 for relevant notes)

• Exit Questionnaire – 7 columns (Q1-Q7)

1. Summarize your data (averages and counts, whichever is more appropriate) and create graphs and tables to use in your Project Summary.
   1. You’ll want to think about what data would be best in a graph or table, and what data should just be in the summary text.

dStep 2. Write up your summary results using the provided Final Summary Report Template.

This step should take you about 1 hr. to complete(assuming you have already completed Step 1).

• Copy/Paste the appropriate graphs and tables into the provided template
• Summarize your data that is not in the graphs or tables in your text
• In your textual summary, refer to each of the graphs and tables, briefly describing what is found in each (e.g., As can be seen in Figure 1, all participants [completed this task with no difficulty].)
