In this project, you will conduct your own research and then create and evaluate a health promotion program that targets the following issue: Early childhood nutrition.

Conducting your own research, create and evaluate a health promotion program to address early childhood nutrition.

Your project must accomplish the following objectives:

1. Provide detailed background information on the issue selected. Include the imperative for this issue to be addressed from a community health perspective and clearly state the goal of the program.

2. Provide detailed information on how you will use each of the five major steps of programming (program planning) to create a community health intervention program.

(determining the need, considering program options, setting goals, structuring the program, evaluating the program)

3. Propose a minimum of three specific and realistic objectives for your health promotion program.

(For example, Goal 1: The goal of the intervention is to reduce the rate of smoking among residents living in Hamilton County to 10% by the year 2025.

Objective 1: By the end of the first month of the intervention, 100 nicotine patches will be distributed to current smokers in Hamilton County.

Objective 2: By the end of the second month of the intervention, 50% of current smokers attending local support groups will increase their self‐efficacy toward quitting smoking.

Objective 3: By the end of the first year of the intervention, the smoking rate in Hamilton County will be reduced to 25%.)

4. Demonstrate critical thinking by providing detailed information on how you will use each of the six steps of evaluation to evaluate your program.

(engage stakeholders, describe the program, focus the evaluation design, gather credible evidence, justify conclusion, and ensure use and share lessons learned)

5. Discuss the performance improvement approaches that are most relevant to your program.

Your project must be at least four pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. You are required to use at least four sources that are peer-reviewed or academic in nature to support your project. All sources used must have citations and references in APA Style.

Your introduction should clearly present the essay’s thesis and a summary of the main points that clarify your point of view. Use excellent transitions and ensure your paragraphs contain strong topic sentences. Please do not use sources that need to be paid for to access. Please don’t be vague. Make assignment substantial.
