Write a 2-page compare and contrast paper in which you analyze the websites and compare the results.

Scenario:

Imagine that you are going to open your own private nutrition consulting business and you want to decide on a standard nutrient analysis program to use with your future clients. There are many dietary analysis software packages that are not within your budget. Therefore, you begin searching the internet and realize that you can use various programs and databases on the internet at no charge. This will require you to do some research on the internet.

Record your own 24-hour dietary intake. This should include all beverages, foods, preparation methods (fried, baked), condiments, dressings, seasonings (salt), and very specific serving sizes.

Use the USDA’s “Food Data Central” to begin your project https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/

Select a privately funded (not associated with the government) and free online nutrient analysis program.

Once you have entered your 24-hour dietary intake into both programs, you will need to provide:

A list of your exact food/beverage entries/choices nutrient information for each food for both programs (two tables, clearly labeled: USDA results/ “private internet analysis program”)

A combined total for all of the major nutrients (calories, fat, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, protein, and at least four vitamins or minerals (two tables, clearly labeled: USDA results/ “private internet analysis program”).

As you write this paper, compare and contrast the results from the USDA database with the private dietary analysis website. Do you think one yielded more accurate results? If so, why? Do you think that there are flaws in either one of the websites/databases? Which one is more user friendly?

For the conclusion to your compare and contrast paper, explain which program you are going to use for your new private nutrition consulting business; support your decision with clear, concise, and convincing evidence that the chosen program is accurate, user friendly, and includes a realistic variety of foods.

Requirements

Include the answers to topics #1 and #2, which should indicate the nutrient analysis result tables from the government program and the private website program.

Viewpoint and purpose should be clearly established and sustained.
