Response to Documentary

You will be required to write an analysis of a documentary. A documentary is a nonfiction film meant to inform the viewer on a specific topic. The topics vary, from education, politics, war, medical, social issues, social injustices, etc. All of these topics are domestic or international.

As with all of your papers, I am the only one who will read this. You cannot write a response to the “Frontline: Generation Life” and “The Suicide Plan.” You are also not allowed to write your documentary on "The Social Dilemma" or the new documentary on Tinder.

Your assignment is to find a documentary on the FCC On Demand library database (I recommend Frontline), or you are welcome to find one through Netflix, PBS, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+ (or any other streaming services) or a film release (ESPN 30 for 30 does count), then write a thorough analysis about it. On Hulu, there are specific ones given through 20/20 or the New York Times. Please email me before you consider writing about these. Some of them are not accurate and do not reflect an actual documentary.

As you watch the documentary, you need to answer the following questions in the form of a structured, and organized essay:

What is the topic?
How did the filmmaker approach the topic?
Do you think the filmmaker did a good job with the topic?
What is your personal opinion about the topic?
Note: if you feel you can add more, you are welcome to it.
Paper Requirements

This is a formal paper; thus, adhere to the essay structure. That is, this paper will have an introductory paragraph, a body, and a conclusion. No usage of the first person is accepted at all. You will lose points.
The length of the text should be 3-5 pages.
Use the MLA or APA format.
Remember to edit your paper for content, organization, and conventional errors.
The draft that you submit will be graded as is; there will be no rewrites!
You cannot turn in this paper late, nor email this paper.
