Before taking this course, I never thought that logistics and transportation management is an industry that plays a huge role in the economy and that it literally keeps the world moving. The course was an eye-opener, and now I know that logistics and transportation management is a process that involves efficient storage of products in warehouses, dealing with orders, and delivery of products to customers. My thoughts about logistics were different as I did not know it was a broad business unit comprising an entire process of order fulfillment of customers’ expectations which also requires certain skills. The idea that logistics and transportation management involves the movement of goods, inventory planning, demand forecasting, and goods storage was very new. Before the course, I thought that the process only involved the movement of goods, particularly delivery. It never occurred to me that logistics and transportation management is critical to the success of any business and that it requires knowledgeable and skilled workers.
