I just scrolled through your I-Search project and saw a few major issues that I want you to fix before I grade the project. I’ll give you until TOMORROW (Tuesday, March 8) to make your revisions and resubmit. You need a 117/160 on the final project to secure your C in the course. That means you must earn no lower than a 73 C- on this project. Below is a shortlist of what you need to fix to make that happen:
1. Each source of your search should be a minimum of 1 full page each (max can be much longer)–the journal #1 and website don’t achieve that length
2. Missing the Journal #2
3. Be sure to paragraph each summary–right now, you’re just giving me a page long lump of text–paragraph each summary just as you would with a regular essay
4. Quest is a problem–you’re giving info from your research in here, and that’s not where research goes. That research would go in the SEARCH portions. For the Quest, you should establish the 3-4 subtopics you’ve narrowed down your research to + give a bunch of questions you want to investigate + explain where you plan to look for the research (so it’s perfectly ok to say “I have found X book with chapters titled Y and Z, and I’m hopeful it will answer my questions….”) Be sure to paragraph this section just like you paragraphed the SEARCH.
4. For the search portions, you should cite intext those sentences that have summarized information as well as the sentences that are quoted–in MLA format (author’s last name + page number) (Jones 24). I’m not seeing intext citations throughout.
