20 Mar Critical Paper
Students will write a paper critiquing an authors view of faith. That is to say students will select some view of faith from the assigned readings, and provide reasons for disagreeing with that view. This is what it means to take a critical view of an idea.
These papers should be between 2000-2200 words.
Papers should state a clear thesis up front in which the student aims to express their main point(s) of disagreement with the author, and why they take exception.
Before critically engaging the authors view students should aim to summarize that view clearly, not failing to explain why the view can seem attractive.
Students should consult and integrate (use!) at least ten scholarly (peer-reviewed) sources in addition to the course readings.
