Creative Writing Class:

Write a 1000 word short story about the fear someone has when having a job interview

Make the interview have spice and make it awkward

The key to this assignment is to make the short story humorous and for the readers to be amused by the panic of this guy being interviewed

It can be in first or third person doesnt matter as long as we get the panic of the guy being interviewed

My interviewer was late, I was thinking about all the things I practiced for, the lines I rehearsed, the answers I had practiced and memorized, I felt like everything was ready. I wanted this interview to be done because I was so confident in these answers. But then i started to think are my answers for a job interview the important thing or is it the way I present and answer I need to appear confident 

He was a very tall and muscular man and I swallowed all the remaining saliva down my throat. He was bold and impossible to miss. I saw him from a distance hoping he was not the interviewer. We locked eyes and he walked towards me in a slow and carefree manner.

I stood up to greet him, but I certainly stood up too early as he still needed a solid 7 seconds to get to our table. I stood there smiling looking at him until but after a few seconds the staring got awkward so I lowered my gaze to the floor until he reached our table.

Awkward interactions like this where the main character has a mental battle about this interview and to make him stand up too early and create awkwardness to the situation

I’ve attatched a very rough draft just for some inspiration and a better idea of the assignment. You can change everything about this story from the rough draft

Keep the same abrupt ending where after all the panic and preparation the main character is asked tell me about your self and he cant seem to answer
