Unit level objectives:

The scholar will compose a submission ready literature review section of a qualitative research proposal, formatted and cited in the current APA method, on the research problem of choice demonstrating substantial analysis of the sources chosen.

Academic or scholarly articles from peer reviewed journals or limited official (government) sources will be discussed in the Literature Review.

The statement of the Qualitative or Mixed Method research question/problem will be stated in a clear, specific, accurate, deep, and sociologically fair manner (Universal Intellectual Standards).

Make your final choice on your disaster-oriented research problem, and over the next two weeks submit the draft “literature review” with a bibliography for that problem. Note that this should be an analytical report of what you have extracted from the existing literature relating to your problem or question, and build the rationale for your qualitative or mixed-method study. Take the position that you are explaining what is known about the factors that interact in your particular problem to a review committee of peers and subject matter specialists.

Follow this APA 7th edition referenced review with a description of the population you will sample (with a meaningful demographic description), and your formal sampling plan (including how many qualitative interviews and observations you will conduct among each demographic).

Guidance on the components of a Qualitative Research Proposal are listed in the overview for this week. Your final proposal will include all the sections addressed in the Heath and Klopper references.
