Describe the nurse?s role and responsibility as health educator. What strategies, besides the use of learning styles, can a nurse educator consider when developing tailored individual care plans, or for educational programs in health promotion? When should behavioral objectives be utilized in a care plan or health promotion? A Nurse?s Role and Responsibility as Health Educator ? Assessment of the nurses own learning styles should first be assessed prior to creating a plan of care for a patient. ?Self-reflection, personal knowing, and the development of a personal self-care plan are all relevant practices for the professional nurse? (Whitney, 2018). Developing an individual care plan for a patient should include an assessment of the lived experiences the patient has encountered prior to arriving at his current health status. Language barriers and English as a second language can have a negative effect on communication. The patients? level of literacy, culture, and environment are major factors in the assessment process. Behavioral objectives should be implemented into plan of care as soon as learning barriers and motivation level have been identified (Whitney,2018). Measurable objectives should be implemented. Evidence- based practice requires nurses to access and appraise evidence from nursing assessment and patient data to develop an objective. The patient will list current dose of Metformin. Listing is the behavioral objective and action that describes the behavioral change.The patient will learn to promote health.
