Self-regulation encourages independent learners. Assisting students to self-monitor learning, set appropriate learning goals, and establish ownership of their learning can improve overall learning outcomes for student success. In addition, it is necessary to collaborate with families on the importance of self-regulation to encourage independence in their home environment.

For this assignment, use creativity and innovative thinking to create a 1-2 page digital brochure to share with families at the beginning of a school year.

The digital brochure should include the following:

Explain how students’ self-regulation and ownership of learning can increase engagement and promote self-efficacy.

Describe the importance of establishing a learning environment that fosters ownership of learning.

Describe the roles of the teacher, student, and family in establishing a culture of self-regulation and independent learning.

Provide 3-5 strategies to integrate self-regulation techniques into the learning environment.

The digital brochure should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.
