I'm working on a education & teaching presentation and need guidance to help me learn.

In the field of education, you will hear time and time again about the “gap” between research and practice. That is to say, researchers and scholars lambast teachers (practitioners) for not using “research-based practices,” and teachers lambast researchers and scholars for not wholly understanding the complexities of classrooms and teaching. It is no one side’s fault, and as such, both sides are responsible for collaborating and linking research and practice together. In an effort to honor your responsibility as an educator, you will read at least one (1) related research article throughout the semester. You may choose from a curated list of articles provided by the instructor, or you may find an article of your own choosing that is related to the week’s theme and from a peer-reviewed journal. (If you choose your own article, please run it by me in advance for approval.) You will be expected to complete a Text Notes template for your Practitioner Research article, and on the evening it is due, you will guide the class through a short 5-10 minute presentation of the article, including: 1) an overview of its main points and how it connects to concepts from our core readings and discussions; 2) how you think it relates to a Early Childhood classroom setting; and 3) a brief discussion question for the class to consider.
