STEP 1: Pick one of the disorders you read about in Chapter 15 and learn more about it in order to make a “At-a-Glance” page with details about the disorder. Visit the National Institute of Mental Health (Links to an external site.) and search for the disorder, read through the information, then scroll to the section on “Research and Statistics” or “Journal Articles or Reports” to find helpful links to outside information. Look elsewhere as well for details about the prevalence, signs, symptoms, details, and research related to the disorder. Keep track of all of your sources as you investigate because you will need to provide an APA style references page.

STEP 2: In a format of your choosing (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Canva, Infogr.am, Photoshop, Google Doc, etc.), create a 1 page visual that includes the following information about the disorder:

• Description
• Prevalence
• Causes and Risk Factors
• Recent Research (referencing at least 2 research articles)
• Either as a footnote on the same page, or on a separate page, include the citations in APA format

STEP 3: On a separate page, in complete sentences and APA style writing, describe how each of the following perspectives (found in Chapter 16) would explain and treat this psychological condition and its causes and symptoms. Include a response for ALL perspectives.

• Psychoanalytical
• Behavioral
• Cognitive
• Humanistic

STEP 4: Include a list of all sources, including the textbook, in APA format. Make sure that APA style and academic tone are followed closely throughout your writing.

• Only third person point of view (POV) was used [do not usefirst or second person POV in APA style { “I, my, we, our/ you, your” are not allowed!}]
• Consistently and frequently cited and all sources listed in the references page match up with in-text citations throughout the body of the assignment.
• Grammar, spelling, and proper sentence structure were reviewed and double checked for any typos
