Instructions:  

For this assignment, each of you are going to create 4 to 7 informative PowerPoint slides (in addition to your title slide) like you would see in a PowerPoint presentation.

The slides will be for a specific treatment requiring wax (see pages 240-263). This MUST be submitted in .ppt or .pptx format ONLY. If I cannot open it, I cannot grade it. Powerpoint is available in your Outlook account.

1.   The first slide (Title slide) should have your name, our class number (FSS233), date, and the topic you will be discussing (Remember, this slide does NOT count towards your 4-7). There are specific topics (see below) that you may choose from. These slides are intended to help you and your classmates learn/study.  

2. Once you complete your slide(s), please upload to the assignment link, AND share in the discussion forum labeled “PowerPoint Presentations.”  This way, your classmates can use them for learning/studying.  

3. Here are the requirements for your slide(s):

Readable – Colors do not contrast and is easy on the eyes – 25 pts
Creative – Not just black and white block letters…too boring – 25 pts
Visual – Must include 2-3 (NO MORE) visuals…not too large, not too small – 25 pts
Information – Topic is accurately and completely covered with proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, citations, etc. – 25pts

TOTAL POINTS:  100 (25 points x 4 = 100)

TOPICS (you will find most of these topics within pages 240-263). Do research outside the  book as well. Cite your sources!!

The following are the ONLY topics allowed. I would suggest choosing a topic you are NOT comfortable with–this will help you learn the procedures better. Any restoration requiring sutures should include the type of suture(s) in your work.

• Mold, Skin Slip (on face, arms and hands)
• Tumors, Ulcers, and Lesions
• Sutures
• Decapitation
• Pistol and Rifle Wounds (to Neck/Chest/Upper Extremities) 
• Flesh eaten away by cancer/disease (Right side of face)
• Full-Body Organ Donor with Right side ear missing
• Amputation due to explosion. Loss of Right arm, cheek, and ear
• Gunshot wound (GSW) to face (Pistol. Close range. Homicide); Skull intact except for right side of temporal bone; Right ear mangled.
•  & Burns
• Mold, Skin Slip (on face, arms and hands)
• Fractures
• Flesh eaten away by cancer/disease (Right side of neck to right arm down to fingers)
• Gunshot wounds to face. Not close range. Homicide. Clear entry and exit wounds. Multiple soft tissue injuries to face. Skull intact.
• Facial Lacerations
• Remains that have been autopsied (Full autopsy, including cranium).
