20 Sep Rutgers education will help

Question: Tell us how you believe a Rutgers education will help you achieve your personal enrichment or career goals.

I am applying to Rutgers University as this has always been my dream school.

About me: I am on the volunteer fire department in East Hanover New Jersey for almost 4 years, My major is Criminal Justice, I want to be a police officer and then later become a k-9 Handler, I have went to the Morris County Junior Police academy for 4 years in the summer, I started the junior police academy when I was 11 and became a Counselor when I was 13 years old. I currently work at Camp Bow Wow, where we take care of dogs such as; feed, cleaning, playing, monitoring, housing, and overall taking care of them. Camp Bow Wow is a doggie daycare/boarding facility. I work here to understand dog behavior and that I would benefit me more when trying to become a k-9 Handler. I have an associate degree from County College of Morris in science. My gpa was 2.1 when I graduated from County College of Morris. I started college in September of 2016 and my first year of college I ended with a 3.0, but my second year I struggled to pass my classes because I was not feeling well and eventually went to the doctors in November 2018 and they diagnosed me with Lupus. After being put on medication, I continued with school and to achieve my goals. I never gave up on my dreams of becoming a police officer and I thrived to achieve my goal and graduated and got my associates degree. I got so sick with Lupus that I was put on academic probation and had to take a semester off due to the decline of my grades. When I got better, I pushed myself to get better grades and pass my classes, My last semester of my graduating year I took two classes and got As in both. I never gave up on both my dreams and goals.
