REFLECTIVE ESSAY STRUCTURE
Your REFLECTIVE ESSAY should be at least ONE PAGE, TYPED (Times New Roman, 12 point font, and double spaced), and USE the STANDARD MLA FORMAT and HEADING (refer to the Standard Essay Format PDF in the Additional Materials folder under Week 4).
It should also be comprised of FOUR PARAGRAPHS. The following is a breakdown of how to organize the essay and what it should include; use the questions as guides for what to write about in each paragraph and be as detailed as possible about your writing experience for this class:
INTRO PARAGRAPH
Give an overview of your writing experience for this class. How did you feel about your writing at the beginning and end of this course? What did you struggle with most with your midterm and final essays? What did writing both essays teach you about writing in general?
2nd PARAGRAPH
Describe your writing process for your narrative essay. Why did you choose your topic? Was the point of your narrative clear? What strengths and weaknesses did you notice in your storytelling?
3rd PARAGRAPH
Describe your writing process for your persuasive essay. Why did you choose your topic? Did you have to revise your thesis? What strengths and weaknesses did you notice in your persuasive writing?
CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH
Summarize your writing and revising experiences. What did you learn about your writing and writing in general? How confident are you about your writing skills? Do you think you are prepared for ENG101?
