DISCUSSION BOARD-(GOING GREEN)-REPLY TO 1ST STUDENT

Good Evening Professor and Class,
What is your Internship company doing regarding “Going Green”?
– Northfield Bank where I am doing my internship in has gone green. I think it’s great because then all employees and customers that have something that needs to go in the garbage they will pick the right one for the trash. And even us employees will direct the customer of which trash to put it in if they do not know which one to put it in. I myself sometimes forget which trash I should put my garbage in. We are human and forget but, in other words, I think going green in the company or any company is great because then it is the right thing to do and it is easy and better for the environment. Going green could even save entry in the branches and lights as well. I have noticed that some lights in the branch are turned off due to going green and saving money on electricity. According to chron, “Going green can improve the overall efficiency of a business. Reducing unnecessary waste can trim operating costs for the business, for example. Turning off lights in vacant offices can save energy, save on utility costs and increase the companys bottom line. Printing less cuts down on paper usage, and can lower the budget spent on printing materials” (Lorette, 2017).  As a result, if a company goes green it is better and does have many improvements on the business and most of all it is safe and easy. Most of all, when a company reduces waste it does lower the cost in the branch and saves time and money. This is why going green is great and it is safe.
Why is this such a hot topic?
– This is a hot topic because it saves time and entry. A lot of companies do not realize how much they could be saving by doing this and how much electricity that is to be saved. People just think that there is a catch when going green, no way you save time and money and it is better for everyone! If there is the waste you could put in green garbage that is safe and better for everyone. Plus if there is light outside then why turn on more lights if there is plenty of light on the outside and bring it in the inside. According to entrepreneur, “Greening the space in which you work has almost limitless possibilities. Start with good furniture, good lighting, and good air. Furniture can be manufactured from recycled materials as well as recyclable. Incandescent bulbs can be replaced with compact fluorescents and there is an ever-growing selection of high-end LED desk lamps that use miniscule amounts of energy” (Al-Masri, 2015). This is a good reference to bring in because tells what could be going in a green pail and how everything could be more saved and easy.
