20 Sep How Covid-19 will Change the Workforce and Post-Covid
In a minimum 1000 word essay (not including references, footnotes, or works cited page, as the case my be with your discipline), propose an academic research project in your field of study, in an area that interests you.
Importantly, you are not actually conducting this study. You will not be collecting data and reporting on findings, or delving deeply into your articles. Instead, in this project, you are writing the introduction to a possible article that does report on your findings, using CARS moves 1, 2, and 3.

Move 1
-Detail and narrowing in move 1, from general statements to specifics in scholarship
-Handling of material, including selective, strategic paraphrase and quoting
-Clear strategy to anticipate (set the stage for) Move 2 within Move 1
Note: all these writing criteria are also research criteria. You need to have done good research to accomplish them.
Move 2
-Skillful presentation of the gap in scholarship, anchored in discussion of Move 1. If a real-world problem is serving as the problem your research addresses, you must still have a very clear articulation of how your will address a gap in knowledge (scholarly understanding) that is related to the real-world problem. Remember, the problem you are solving is in scholarship. Then, the consequences or benefits can be real world, technological, and/or based in industry.
-Complexity and nuance in Move 2, where you avoid claims that are too big or unskilled. For example, nobody has ever looked at this!
Move 3
-Do you fill the gap?
-Research questions and methods are aligned with moves 1 and 2.
-Research questions and methods either follow a model in your discipline, or the standard headings of research questions and a brief methods section.
Condensing and expanding where appropriate.
With Move 1, theres really no excuse for not having anything to say. With seven sources, you should have ample material to dive into details or add multiple Move 1s to narrow down your topic. Remember they can be iterative (cyclical), rather than linear.
