Answer two of the following questions. Maximum 500 words for each question.
In your answers, you do not need to give citations for facts taken from the notes or videos. If those are your only sources (which is what I expect) you don’t need to footnote at all. Also, note that the answers must be your own work and in your own words

Questions:
a. What theories did early Greco-Roman society have to account for the immortality of the gods?
b. What materials did the philosophers from Miletus (Thales, Anaximander and Anaximines) claim everything was made of? Why these materials?
c. What experiment was done in antiquity to prove that air exists, even when it is not moving hence impossible to see or feel? How did it prove that air exists?
d. Explain Zeno’s third paradox (using my interpretation) and how Aristotle’s air- engine was intended to resolve the paradox.
e. Theophrastus thought fire could not be an element. Explain his argument.
f. In antiquity people used sundials to tell them the time of day. How does a sundial work? Can you tell the time using a sundial without knowing the date?
g. What were the problems with using a clepsydra to measure elapsed time? What solutions to these problems were adopted?
h. Early Greek geographers believed the Earth was a disk. What were the arguments pro and con for the Earth being a disk?
i. How did Eratosthenes measure the radius of the Earth?
j. Describe the four different ancient theories about how the eye works.
k. What was the theory of reproduction that spread in the Old World with agriculture? What were the scientific problems with this theory?
